A simple solution combustion method for the synthesis of V2O5 nanostructures for supercapacitor applications

The enhanced power density, long term cycling stability, and fast rate of operation, makes supercapacitors as desirable energy storage devices. Though metal oxides play a significant part in systems, Vanadium have piqued the interest electrochemists due to their multi-valency, potential window, unique layer structure, affordability, plentiful availability. pentoxide typically has relatively low specific capacitance its weak electrical conductivity ionic diffusivity. However, these properties can be by encasing vanadium or carbonaceous materials, reducing it nanoscale, changing shape. On other hand, synthetic strategies are mostly essential raising compound's capacitance. Here, we report synthesis nanoparticles using cost effective solution combustion method. synthesized material was characterized X-ray diffraction analysis, UV-Vis Spectroscopy, FT-IR Scanning Electron Microscopy, Cyclic voltammetry, Galvanostatic Charge-discharge, Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy. crystallite size obtained is 28 nm. 310 F/g calculated at 1 A/g Charge-discharge higher than existing reports on V2O5 nanoparticles.
